The Pox

Juliana woke up this morning and told me that her butt was itchy. lol Ok..I shouldn't laugh.

I actually dreaded this moment.
Juliana caught the chicken pox from daycare. She woke up Saturday morning with a few red spots around her tummy and neck and I automatically knew what they were. Another little boy had caught them last week at her school and I thought she wasn't going to catch them because he's not in her class. Apparently, crayons weren't the only thing they shared.

Danica's wondering if she'll catch them as well since she's never had them when she was younger. I don't know when the most infectous time is while fighting the Pox but because they sleep together she most likely will contract them. Hopefully it's before school starts.

I called Josie at the daycare this morning. She told me that I'm the 4th person who has called to say that their kid had the pox. It's going around. I was wondering if someone like myself was able to contract it twice in a lifetime. I'm in need of some time off. Then, Peter and I took her to her grandmothers this morning for a few days along with Danica. It just occured to me .......This means I'll have the whole house to myself tonight!

Yahooo!!! lol

Tired

I had a couple of things I had wanted to share here but I forgot what they were. All I remember was lying in bed last night thinking of what a great piece that would be for my blog. Umm...I guess it wasn't too great if I couldn't even remember what the fuck it was, huh?

Family time (without Pete) at the beach with the girls on Saturday was great. Brought the dogs as well. Went to meet Stella at the cottage. It's just too bad the weather didn't coincide with my mood. It was cloudy and a bit on the cool side but the kids had fun in the sand none-the-less. Wore them out enough to have a very quiet drive home. Those drives are the best because you know they're worn out from having so much fun.

Last Tuesday I was telling Peter how we don't spend any time together and how much I would love a "date" with him. He agreed and told me he'd take me out and that we'd do something on Sunday.
He woke up in a terrible mood on Sunday. While he went to get a hair cut, I took the kids with me grocery shopping. We all ate lunch together and I watched him leave the table as he took a couple of Tylenol's and fell asleep on the couch. I did some housework and laundry. After a while Juliana took her nap and the woke up late afternoon to the sound of the TV watching me.

He denies it but I just knew he forgot about our "date". It was close to dinner when I mentioned we go out to eat. I explained to him that I felt as though that with everything going on with him and his car... I wasn't important enough to remember. After talking, arguing and talking some more, he made his routine apology and I went to bed.

That's ok. I'm not bitter. I'm tired.

Girls night!

I'm excited!
Stella and I have arranged (at the last minute and those are always the best) a girls night out. Nick has taken her 3 kids to the cottage and left her alone for 3 days. She plans on meeting them up there on Thursday. We haven't had a night out in a while so yesterday she called me and told me to come on over. Pete didn't mind. The only thing I have to do is remind him to pick up Juliana from the day care. God forbid he forgets. I'll have to pay for her psychotherapy bills for the rest of my life.

I'm bringing over my Chasing Time DVD and my guitar. She'll vent while I play some Def Leppard and James Blunt tunes and we'll eat popcorn all night. Ahhh...carb fest! lol I swear, if I had the money, I'd pay for both of us to take a trip somewhere...just the two of us. ROAD TRIP! lol Vegas maybe? California? New York! All sound great.

Maia and I are hitting it off. We've been exchanging e-mails. She's a great writer. I can't wait to read more of her e-mails and am so glad that she's coming with me to see James in October. She sounds like a great girl. I wonder what sign she is?? She sounds really smart.

I'm also glad I could help Karren and her sister Cat out with JB tickets. They were so excited that I already received the cheque she mailed out already. lol She's so cute.

I'm currently talking to Danica on the phone. She calls from her grandmother's house to harass me at least 3 times a day. Tonight she'll have to harass her father since I won't be home. hehee! Sorry Pete. NOT!

The Parsley Murder.

My garden was bare this year. I wasn't planning on planting anything due to lack of time but I did manage to plant basil in a pot and I ran into a bit of luck and found a huge parsley plant that sprung up unannounced in my garden ...along with some unwelcomed weeds I keep pulling out on occasion.

I sent Pete outside over the weekend to cut the grass. He tends to wait until the grass itself looks like a corn field before taking the mulcher to it which I hate because we don't bag the grass. It recycles itself into the lawn but if you tend to wait too long and the grass is high, it just looks like hay strewn all over the clean grass when it dries.

I went out to help clean up the yard when I looked over at my garden and found nothing but a stump where my parsley used to be. It was torn to shreds. There was absolutely nothing left of it other than strewn pieces of parsley everwhere. Initially I had thought a racoon had chewed it all up but then I looked over at the hubby. Pete had the weedwacker in his hand, trimming away and I nearly fell over and died LAUGHING!

He looked at me strangely as I smiled and said "What the hell did you do to my poor parsley??!" He looked over at the garden and said, "I thought I was doing you a favour by cutting down those weeds. How should I know what parsley looks like!"

I finally managed to calm myself down after 10 minutes of my hysterical laughfest to say, "That's ok hun. You just gave me a great story to tell my friends."

Never trust a husband when he has the weedwacker in his possession.

The JB Presale chaos...

Wow. It's been a while huh? Sorry. I've been consumed with everything around me that I keep forgetting to drop a few words in here to tell you what's going on.

A few things...

They finally decided to replace the air conditioner units and fix the damn roof today at work. It's been hot with the sun beating down on me. Nothing I can't live with though.

Went to Wasaga beach over the long weekend with the kids. Pete went to the track. The kids had a blast and I got a burn. I also missed a doctors appointment and a dentist appointment because of our little trip. All worth it..I'd say.

James James James....and more James. The pre-sale was yesterday. I was nervous but managed to keep my cool I got myself 3rd row dead centre. I've very relieved. I had the pre sale jitters last week. Maia and I had a plan to buy more than a couple just in case one of us had better seats, we'd sell the others. The seats started to sell from the back up so after buying row 11, I got row 5 then I tried once more and got row 3. Couldn't get any better than that so I scooped 'em. Maia bought 19th centre row. So we're looking to sell those.
Sold both of my sets at face value of course. I could never make a buck off a true JB fan. I've noticed the scalpers are already on e-bay selling tickets for hundreds of dollars. The Fuckers. I can now laugh at them instead of the other way around.

Can't wait to meet Maia, Karren, Cat, Annec and her son and the other boardies. Hopefully there will be some way we'll be able to introduce ourselves.

It's going to be great ...umm...but don't tell Pete. He thinks I'm going with Stella. Stella apparently didn't want to go so I decided to team up with Maia (a complete stranger...lol). Ok, well, not totally. We have talked over the phone so she isn't completely a stranger. I have a feeling we're going to have a blast!

Hotter than Havana...

It's officially hotter than Havana Cuba here in Toronto today. It was recorded to be 36 degrees while only 32 in Havana. An unbelievably, incredibly, unremarkably HOT day. Detroit and Chicago are the only two cities hotter than T.O. today.

It's so unbearable that I decided not to work out today. The air conditioning in the gym here at work isn't working and the actual room is on the second floor so it's hotter and smellier come to think of it, than a hooker with boots in there.... And, there's no friggen way you'd even catch me outside in the shade today so forget going walking.
I once did my cardio in the gym when it ws 32 degrees outside. Manny was weight training the same time. We both shook our heads after looking at each other because it was so damn hot and I said "We must be really dedicated to be working out today". He said, "Yeah, either dedicated or stupid". LOL I had to laugh at that one.

I made a big mistake yesterday and chose to cut the lawn late evening. Who knew it would still be that hot. By the time I finished, I was soaked from head to toe in sweat. Talk about a workout.

It's even hot in the office today and the air is on. I can't imagine how the guys in the pressroom do it. We did get a couple of huge fans in earlier but what good is that? All that does is blow hot air everwhere.

I just got a call from Pete. He's basically ruined. He's such an idiot. I can't believe he didn't close down the shop at noon and called it a day. Oh...I forgot. He's a workaholic. I guess some people think the time to quit is after they get sick. Well, I can't rag out on him too much. He's a sweetheart for letting me go to the JB concert in October even though I've already gone in March.
Met two boardies who have decided to come with me. Maia and Karren will probably be meeting up with me there. I can hardly wait!
